Enhance Interactive is the most innovative and
progressive PPC company in the industry. One of the biggest
problems with pay per click search engines is click fraud. Although
every PPC company parries away accusations of click fraud, few
actually do anything about it. Towards the beginning of 2006,
Enhance Interactive made a number of changes to their company that
benefits the client. One of the most important changes was to their
distribution. The quality of traffic that Enhance Interactive now
receives is, in many cases, the best available on the internet.
Their distribution now includes thousands of parked domains that
are owned by their parent company, Marchex. Parked domains offer a
two-fold benefit for the client: First, many of these domains are
specific to a keyword, making their context much more relevant.
Second, individuals who run PPC ads on their parked domain often
click links just to make themselves money. Since Marchex is the
only one that gains when a clickthrough is received, there is no
fraud. This high converting traffic has caused keyword bids to
rise, but are still significantly lower than Google Adwords and
Yahoo! Search Marketing.
Another positive change is their new user interface. It’s rather
obvious that they took the best aspects of Google, Yahoo!, and
their own interface and used them to create the new one. Although
rather plain-looking, the new account interface is very versatile
and allows the user to use multiple credit cards, mass upload
keywords, create campaigns, set auto-bidding, and numerous other
great features.
The only negative change to Enhance Interactive has been their
keyword creation. This service used to be one of the best features
offered at Enhance Interactive. Although you can still have
keywords created, the work is poor and rather useless. However, if
you do want help creating keywords, here is an especially useful
tip: don’t pay any up front fees! Within a few days of opening an
account, you will be called by one of their sales people asking if
you would like to upgrade your account. They will tell you that
they will create keywords for you if you make another deposit into
your account (we’ve heard between $50-150). Their keyword creation
is not the best, but if you don’t know how or if you don’t want to
learn (this site will teach you) than all you have to do is pay for
more traffic and let them do it.
They have what is called a LogoLink, which is an 80x40 pixel
graphic that appears next to your ad. You don’t want it. The idea
of having your logo appear next to your listing seems nice, but
there are very few sites that will show it, and none of those sites
are worth drawing attention on.
Enhance Interactive’s customer service is one
of the best in the industry. Before you’re too impressed,
understand that the pay per click industry as a whole has really
bad customer service.
